Really? We have velvet in Me & Henry! Of course - nothing classier and more fabulous than a crisp black velvet jacket for those special photos and family moments - but what is velvet?

Velvet is a sleek and soft fabric which rather fabulously in the past was related to the aristocracy as it was SO costly to manufacture 

Initially, velvet was made from silk and was too expensive to be purchased by normal people

Velvet originated in Baghdad in 750 AD, however, slowly the production of fabric spread to the Mediterranean towards Europe. These days, even though modern velvets contains other materials and is NOT silk, it still remains unique to other fabrics because of its lovely softness.
