According to various historians, corduroy or as we call it 'cord' originated within Egypt in 200 AD but was first manufactured in 18th Century England. 

It fast became famous among the working-class people around the globe, specifically in the US and France. In the 20th Century, the Corduroy fabric became a trend in the fashion industry and comes and goes in and out of adult fashion trends. 

It is popular due to its distinct ridged patterns which a weaver makes in a variety of widths (called Wales) and is a staple in Me & Henry as we love the looking it harks back to the 70's when it was having a massive resurgence.
